Shippen Cottage

Shippen Cottage was built in the 1850’s as a purpose built shippen, or cowshed, where the cows would all have been milked by hand.

The old buildings have been sympathetically converted into a charming holiday cottage situated in the top corner of the courtyard, next to the atmospheric butterwalk of the old threshing barn.

It is very comfortable, with fitted carpets, television (freeview) with video/dvd, electric heating and a fully equipped kitchen, as you would expect from 4 star accommodation. As well as a raised dining area from the very spacious sitting room, there is also an eating area in the kitchen itself.

Patio doors take you from the sitting room into the enclosed private garden, which adjoins pastureland beyond, so is very peaceful.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin, and the bathroom, with bath, shower, hand basin and W.C.
