We enjoyed another lovely week at Boswell Farm - just as good as our first visit and regular visits since 1996! The standard of the cottage and warm welcome makes it worthwhile and we look forward to our next visit. Have been coming here since I was a baby! Each time I have been here I have never had a boring day, you always find something to do even if it rains. I hope to come on another visit!

Been coming to this cottage or Shippen for more than 10 years. We have been very happy with both cottages, very comfortable, and the surrounding countryside is outstanding.

It has been two lovely weeks at Boswell Farm. jack and Simon have attended language school at Sidmouth International School and I have relaxed, jogged and enjoyed the beautiful walking paths around Sidmouth. We have been very happy staying in Hayloft Cottage. Getting to sleep when it's all peaceful and silent and waking up to the sound of squealing pheasants is a true reminder of how life should be lived. Boswell Farm has been perfect Peter July 2014

The two weeks were wonderful here again as usual. This time we came to prove that you can travel without a car! It worked well. We hired bikes and cycled through the Byes to Sidmouth - really beautiful! We enjoyed the folk week again with all the buskers and the Morris dancers and even travelled to Exeter and Weymouth on the X53. We thoroughly enjoyed it all, thank you!

A&E October 2014

Me and my boyfriend are in our twenties and wanted a nice weekend to get away from the stresses of life and i spent hours trying to find somewhere with everything i was looking for. I wanted somewhere secluded, in beautiful countryside, but within a mile or so to the beach, i wanted a private garden and cosy cottage, somewhere we could escape and spend quality time together. Hayloft cottage at Boswell farm was honestly perfect. I could not have found anywhere better. We spent our time on long walks, talking, laughing, playing tennis and it just felt so special to bond again and get away. There's lots to do with regards to sight seeing you can hire bikes too but it was misty so we decided to walk, even so it was beautiful in the day and cosy at night watching films the weather didn't bother us at all. We will 100% be returning and will recommend boswell to everybody. Thank you for being so friendly and helpful and we look forward to seeing you again. Jenny and James. x

Fantastic cottage, well presented throughout, great garden and view. Very private ,though close to amenities. A great pub within walking distance, plus other great places to eat and food shops close by in Sidmouth. The walk to Sidmouth along The Byes was recommended and must be walked, fantastic scenery and great dogs. We also played golf locally. Many thanks for the cream tea and welcome pack. We hope to be able to come again

Boswell Farm is spread over 45 acres of pasture, arable land and woodland with the delightful Snod Brook running through its heart.

There is a footpath, with rests, that will take you right around the farm - alongside the brook, over bridges, and through the fields with spectacular views of the Sweetcombe and Sid Valleys.

You might see kingfishers, dragonflies, buzzards, foxes, and other Devon wildlife. Amongst the trees and flowers are ancient oaks, willows, and a whole host of delicate wild flowers.

The tennis court has recently been resurfaced to a very high standard, so for practising your game whilst on holiday Boswell Farm is definitely the place to come.

Tennis racquets are available should you require them.

....and remember, the sea is only 2 miles away if you want to take a refreshing dip afterwards!

A recent and very welcome addition at Boswell has been a small adventure playground for children, making Boswell farm an even more delightful place for them to explore and make wonderful and exciting holiday memories.

Boswell has its own small, serene, natural lake, which is maintained as a natural sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife. It is also well stocked for coarse fishing - a peaceful place to enjoy the beauty of nature and fishing.

There are wooden benches if you just want to take in the calm of the water on a warm Devon evening.

It is the perfect place for an afternoon sitting on the shady bank with a fishing rod or a picnic basket - whichever takes your fancy!

If you should prefer and are an experienced angler, there is even fishing available for brown trout in the Snod Brook which runs right though Boswell Farm.

(We do require the use of barbless hooks and for any fish that are caught to be returned)

Regular Pilates classes are held from the Old Kennels Studios at Boswell Farm.

As a qualified Pilates instructor, Linda Macaulay can advise you on the right class to attend if you so wish. She can also offer one to one sessions, for both beginners and more advanced students, and if required can tailor a complete and personal programme.
